Committed to Delivering Exceptional Care
Each patient is unique, with their own clinical issues and personal goals and concerns. It’s only by talking with a patient, encouraging them to tell me what they need from treatment, that I’m able to find the care approach right for them.
I use a variety of problem-solving techniques to determine the proper diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plan for a patient. I’ve always thought of dentistry as construction on a millimeter level. That close attention to detail ensures nothing is overlooked and delivers the longest-lasting results. Seeing a patient arrive with a disruptive issue, working with them through treatment, and finishing with improved oral health, gives me great pleasure.
The time I spend with a patient is important to me. From our initial meeting, I strive to build a respectful connection by learning who they are as a person. This allows me to find the best care approach and is personally rewarding, as I treasure those relationships.
I originally came to Washington, DC, to join a senior dentist, Dr. Eugene Gadaire, who was like a father to me. He imparted tremendous wisdom and increased my learning curve by a decade. Although he is no longer with us, I thank him for my success every day.
Education and Continuing Education
- Undergraduate degree – Middlebury College, 1998
- Doctorate of Dental Medicine – University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, 2003
Each year I complete many hours of continuing education (CE). This keeps my staff and me abreast of the latest technological advances and newest procedures in dentistry. CE guides my choices in technological purchases and ensures we use the very best materials and techniques. In turn, our patients benefit from efficient and painless dental care that has lasting results.
I attend local, regional, and national conferences and seminars. Additionally, I’m an active participant in the Seattle Study Club, Frank Spear Study Club, and Renaissance Study Club. I also take online courses and keep current with oral healthcare journals and other publications.

My childhood was spent in Wilbraham, Massachusetts; Middlebury, Vermont; and West Hartford, Connecticut. I now live in Alexandria with my wife Becky. I have two delightful young daughters: Olivia and Alice. Time with them is a priority when I’m not in the office. I also enjoy living a healthy life and staying active through weightlifting, running, mountain biking, and playing golf.
