Family…. This is, after all, the most profound source of joy and pride in most people’s lives. At M Street Dental, we often describe our relationship to each other as one of a close-linked “family.”
You, our trusted patient, benefit from these strong bonds with one another by enjoying benefits in the office, including being personally greeted by all staff members upon arrival, being seated on time for your appointment with Dr. Tromblay, Dr. Slate, or our hygienist, and being treated as though you were, in fact, a family member of ours … a triad of personal touches rarely found in professional offices today.
Patient Care Coordinator
Along with the rest of the M Street Dental team, I take pride in making sure each and every patient is treated with compassion and respect as an individual. Here, we know every patient has their own goals and needs. We really listen to what they want from care and ensure they know we want to help! I joined the team as a Certified Dental Assistant in 2003 and in 2013 transitioned to a Patient Care Coordinator due to a hand injury.
I was born in Guyana in South America. My family then moved to St. Lucia, in the West Indies, where I completed high school. Then, in the early 80’s, I moved to the Maryland/DC area where I pursued my dental career education. I enjoy studying the Bible, spending time with friends and family, especially my two beautiful grand-babies, and traveling.
Registered and Certified Dental Assistant
I was lucky to find my professional home here in 1987, after starting in the dental field in 1980. We have the most amazing team, with each person dedicated to supporting and encouraging the rest of the team and our patients. Patients respond to this warm atmosphere and become part of our extended family! I am our OSHA coordinator and supply manager and I maintain our equipment, too. I also work chairside, providing a second set of hands to help the doctor while supporting our patient and making sure they’re comfortable.
My husband and I have been together for more than 25 years. We have seven children and eight grandchildren. As you might imagine, family activities keep us busy, though we love to travel when we have the time.
I’ve been part of the dental community since 2002, when I joined the Southern Maryland Dental Society. Becoming part of the M Street Dental team, in 2014, has been wonderful. Everyone is talented, gentle, and patient-focused. We all do our best to make sure every patient knows we care about them as a person and how much we appreciate them.
I was born and raised in Jamaica and came to the US in the late 90’s. Away from the office I enjoy time with my family, along with cooking, traveling, working out, and drawing.
After starting in the dental field in 2006, I graduated with honors from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry with a Certificate in Dental Hygiene and a Bachelor of Science degree. I started at M Street Dental in 2011, after moving to the Washington, DC area, and went full-time in 2014. I am passionate about helping people develop optimal oral health. I know preventive care and patient education are essential to maintaining the best dental and systemic health. I’m an active member of the American Dental Hygiene Association and volunteer with Missions of Mercy and Give Kids a Smile.
When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy being outdoors, traveling, practicing yoga, and trying new recipes.
I started working with Dr. Tromblay in 2014. Before that, I worked with Dr. Stiglitz, a periodontist, for 14 years. Dr. Stiglitz worked closely with both Dr. Gadiare and Dr. Tromblay. Seeing how these dentists collaborated to provide patients with the most beautiful, functional dentistry was inspiring. Best of all, I was part of the team! When I was invited to join M Street Dental, I was delighted. I knew Dr. Tromblay as a true professional who delivers exceptional care and results. I work directly with patients, helping them improve and maintain their oral health. I also support my teammates as we partner to ensure the best visits for patients.
My husband Bob, daughter Zoe, and I moved to the DC area in 2000 from Boulder, CO, by way of San Francisco, CA. We’ve enjoyed making this area our home. Outside the office, I enjoy long walks with Ping, our family dog. I also like playing tennis, which I took up after Zoe left for college.
Dental Laboratory Technician
I began my dental career in 1983 and joined M Street Dental in 1991, working with Dr. Tromblay’s mentor, the late Dr. Eugene Gadiare. I’m glad to now be supporting Dr. Tomblay and Dr. Slate. I work closely with the doctors on case planning and management and design and fabrication of all technical needs. Technology is constantly evolving and now with 3D imaging and design being incorporated into the practice, I find myself spending more time at the computer screen and a little less at the work bench. We’ve also brought in new materials, ensuring the highest quality products that last for years.
My high school sweetheart and I married in 2015, after reconnecting on Facebook some 25 years after we left school. I have a son from my first marriage. He graduated from UVA after studying Kinesiology and Sports Medicine. My wife and I spend most of our time working on our home, relaxing, and enjoying each other’s company. I love to laugh and be a positive influence for everyone I meet. Life is short, so I try to Live, Love, and Laugh!
When Dr. Eugene Gadaire, the founder of our practice, was in dental school, I worked as a dental hygienist to support us. I’ve been the M Street Dental office manager since the beginning, in 1975, when Dr. Gadaire graduated. I am currently in the office a few mornings a week but most of my work day now happens in my home office. I feel lucky to be working with Dr. Tromblay and am grateful he’s carrying on Dr. Gadaire’s legacy of providing excellent, individual care to our patients.
